Hello: Where are all of ❤Preds Friends? Visiting @cowboy sam's : Chasing rabbits!??

Good Morning Y'all. I have a problem. Y'all remember that DH always gives me a special birthday cake. My friend from Alabama knows this but she gave me extra decorations for the cake and stated that I need to use them and send her a photo. I appreciate the gift but really don't want to change what DH gives me. I really don't feel comfortable wearing the tiara and sash??😯

my AC LG unit finally went into the window - it is quiet - i mean really quiet - 

my bedroom unit was LOUD - it was cold but LOUD (Friedrich)

been fighting mother nature on many fronts

spotted landtern flies - are living next store - they breed on a weed tree and jumps over

blight, mites, fungus bc of hight heat, humidity has disseminated my farm

tomatoes are dropping without ripening.... beans wont form (flowers dropping)

this usually starts happening at at the beginning of august 

so it came weeks early - so harvest will not be as plentiful as last year

i have sprayed - hoping the plants can hang on - maybe weather will be dryer and cooler... who knows...

anyway- harvest basil and made 20 oz worth

and my first and hopefully not last round of making sauce

still have not found my plates - i thought maybe i shoved them in the draw with clothes to keep them protected - nope

The weather has been bad for a lot of people and their crops.  Sorry you're experiencing it too.  I didn't realize it had been so hot where you are too.  Thank goodness for your new a/c unit.  I think the only thing that likes the weather these days are the insects.  Their numbers seem to be exploding around here.

But your harvest of basil and 'maties looks delicious!  I'm sure your sauce will be too.

About for your friend wanting to see the goodies she sent you, I think I'd just put on the tiara and sash to take a photo for her and then take them off.

As for the cake decorations, maybe tell a little white lie and say you cut up the cake before you remembered to put on her decorations. I don't think that's wrong to do in order to avoid hurting someone's feelings when they've been so thoughtful.

She will get at least part of what she wants.  Be sure and thank her profusely and say how much you enjoyed them.  And Happy Birthday!🎉

@geezerette : Thank you and I totally agree. I thanked friend a lot on Saturday and then again in a text later that evening.

I am totally upset. DH just came in with the birthday cake. He order a smaller cake 7 inch and kept saying I really didn't need the cake and all the calories.  I stated that we normally give visitors that come on my bithday a slice of cake. His sister always insist on a big slice of cake. I will insist that she take the cake home after we each eat a slice. If I am still living next year, I will tell DH that I don't want a cake.

clarification - the basil was made into pesto (about 20 oz worth)

i freeze into small and large packets - whatever the ocasion calls for

duh me

it did not all go into the tomato sauce lol
