@Mj12 @cowboy sam @SouthernBee @KBEANS @Yahooey  and all, actually today I am going to a friend's farm. Complete with chickens, cows, etc..... plus fruits and vegetables. I'm so excited! It's lovely to see the farms in this area of western North Carolina nestled in the valley's of the mountains. Everything is so green and lush.

Woke up a few times during night to loud thunder boomers and early this morning...

my weather alert radio in kitchen must have gone off during that time but i didn't hear in my bedroom maybe because of thunder??

Its 80 degrees at 8am this morning..and   very humid out...so another day to stay in house!

gonna be another hot one today - oven roasting some chicken thights - should be done in another 15 minutes - about 80 degrees right now and going up to 95 or so

staying indoors today

got boomers around 2am and rained for a bit

@cowboy sam : Thanks for the info. DH has a Jitterbug/ Lively Flip Phone that he prefers to use. We purchased the smartphone for the doctor patient portals and the app to order his medicines. He has a computer for his regular stuff . He wanted the smartphone for me to keep track and monitor the medical stuff. He has never used the smartphone. The smart phone sits next to the house phone on a bookcase by my recliner. I have to remind DH to give me his flip phone to charge. I have to remind him to turn it on and take it with him when he goes somewhere but 99 3\4 % of the time the flip phone is never used and only $20 per month. Darn hate that I missed this sale and just realized it would be cheaper in the long run.🙄😮😮😮

@Yahooey  and all..... I just saw this post. No pictures as I didn't think to take any, and already put all my haul away. Green beans...cleaned them and strung them last night and rendered them in bacon grease, chicken stock and seasoning. Yellow squash. Cleaned, cut and frozen. Cherry tomatoes. Green peppers. Hot and mild banana peppers. Cayenne peppers. Cucumbers. Chickens only laid one egg....must be too hot 🥵! Cows (Angus), were out grazing. It was so lovely out there. ❤️

I suspect @Yahooey was referring to Elsie the Cow.  On the Borden dairy products from years ago.

I remember Elsie and her daisy necklace!🐮🥛
