Hello Everyone,

I hope y'all are all well and safe.

Offering my apologies for vanishing, I should have done better.

My dear. loved, and admired, friend, mentor, supporter, guide, and Papa

died on July 16.  He was 95, a traveler, teacher, animal lover, animal protector, seeker, guide, writer, WWII vet, good friend, to so many.  His friends contact list was 9 pages long.  He was a long time member of a local poetry group who did a reading in his memory. The outpouring of love for him has been a true gift.

At his age, death was not a surprise, one can prepare for the event, but

Nothing can prepare for the steering pain and loss.

He left me his home which DH and I have almost finished repairing and renovating.  He also asked that we care for his dog, Ruby.  She stayed

with us many times when he traveled, and so, seems to be settled in.

In addition to his loss, during this time two of our cats, 14 and 17, passed away, as did three very close first cousins, and one cousin-in-law.

It has been a sad time, and a long hard winter.  The week Papa died DH

and I both got COVID, likely from spending so much time in the hospital

with him.  He did Not have it, and was allowed no visitors, all Doctors, and

we were masked, and gowned, I guess it was just our time.  We've had every vaccination and booster.  Thankfully DH was pretty much OK in two

weeks.  I being immunosuppressed, was down for 7 weeks. I developed

irregular heart rhythms, and BP drop on standing. But, good news,

the Cardologist who took care of me ran my bi-weekly EKG yesterday,

guess what?

                      Absolutely Normal Synus Rhyrham!
I am so grateful, especially to my wonderful Spouse who took great care of me, watched over me, drove me to appointments, AND STAYED WITH ME 8 loved me even though
I've been a sad, pretty helpless, mess.

I missed you all, and will be peering in once in a while as I work to catch up.

Love, Drythe

@Drythe

I can totatlly relate to a parent passing... as many as you know that followed me through my meltdown of summer 2021 with mom after a short battle with cancer

it still catches me at times and although i wanted her to go bc she was in pain -

it still is heartbreaking....

i'm sending you gentle hugs my friend

i'm so glad you connected ... and we are always here to listen

you can vent, cry, and cuss... never any judgement

i'm also sorry you had so deaths in such a short time... your heart had barely any time to heal before it bursts open again

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

@Yahooey @Drythe : Totally agree and understand. Yesterday was difficult for me because it was the 9th year of my brother and only sibling death . Plus included Precious memories of my Mom and regretting that I was only 22 months old when my Dad died and not experiencing  a father and daughter relationship. Some days are more difficult than other days.❤🤗
