Can your husband help you with the ice cube trays. You can fill them and he can put them in the freezer? Bagged ice is also an option?
I don't know much about the countertop ice makers. They seem like they take up a lot of room and need to be emptied? or they don't hold the ice once it's made? Sorry, I'm on help on that.
@Bri369 : Poor DH makes a bigger mess with the ice cube trays😁😁.
The counter top ice makers doesn't keep the ice very long. I was thinking of making ice and put it in a bin in the freezer. I could use my utility cart to move the ice maker from the counter top to the sink and store it somewhere else. Then wondering if the covered ice cube trays worked that it would be much easier plus cheaper.

I'll tell her, she's a real trooper. She's had a few hiccups since her diagnosis but it doesn't get her down. I'll let her know that you asked about her.
@JaneMarple : Thank you. I know that you are also a real trooper for everything that you are dealing with.🤗🤗

Good Morning Y'all: I turned the heat up and consumed coffee but still cold. Struggling to get going.
Received text this morning from the lady that purchased my chair verifying that her son will come pick it up this afternoon. I am praying for early afternoon so I will be able to go to the bank today to get the check cashed and deposited . I really don't want to get up early tomorrow and go to the bank.

I would try the ice cube trays or bagged ice and see how that works out first.
Has unplugging the icemaker helped with the noise? The fridge still works, right?

@Bri369 : I totally agree about trying the ice cube trays and bagged ice.
The fridge noise is still loud. I am checking the temperature every 45 minutes and only increases like 2 degrees and then reset it.Fridge runs loud for a couple of hours and then stops for maybe an hour and starts again. The frost is building up in the freezer. Just frustrating and time consuming.

I agree with @Bri369 about trying the covered ice cube trays first to see if you can move them into the freezer easily. There are several different types on Amazon and I'd try one or two first to see how they worked so as not to spend too much in case you didn't like them.
But you're right--if they did work, they're easier and cheaper than having another gadget to have to deal with!
Good luck. I hope you can get that fridge fixed once and for all.

i got something similar from TJ Maxx - to fill from opening and not spilling water and keeping cubes fresh - thought it was a good idea
when u fill the hole - u have to tilt everywhich way to get it to get to the ends
i just open the cover and fill - much easier
i have a hard plastic and the cubes dont pop out easily - even when turning and twisitng - i run a little warm water to losen it up
idk if the silicone bottoms or the whole thing being silicone is better
just my thoughts,,,
also niece has counter ice maker - cubes will melt in tray below and the water will go back into making ice - mold will grow - and idk if all the mold gets clean - bc u cant take the whole maching apart -
