oh my..this wind we are having...we lost electic power for close to 3 hours...seemed like 3 days!😱🥱

I woke up around 3am when i heard the wind...so i put on bathrobe, shoes on  and went outside  and took  all 6 of my wind chimes down  and secured my lawn chair!

Also had showers in between lows of quiet wind and returning strong winds!

How about you?Did you also get strong wind alerts?,etc??

I went across the street to pick up a tree limb   from neighbors driveway and  took to my burn pile...i also picked up small branches in my back yard...nothing huge tho!

Be safe!🤗

Good Morning Y'all : Can't sleep.  Next door neighbor came home around 1 a.m. Slamming doors and talking with lady. Thankfully this only happens every Sunday morning. Otherwise very good and quiet neighbor. He usually brings our empty garbage can from the curb and places it next to  the garage.

Freezer making a different loud noise that will run a  couple of hours and then stops. Currently running. Friday morning. DH had early doctor appointment and when we  returned home was making the noise but very quiet when we left. I looked on line at Home Depot and found an LG side by side  that reviews indicated was very quiet. We went to HD but it is too wide for my space. Sales lady made copies of what they had available that would fit. One was a Frigidaire and the other GE ( that I have now) told her needed to come home and read reviews before doing anything. The prices were $1498/ $1599. Sad but reviews were very mixed and a lot of complaints about loud noise and constantly running and that wasn't from the ice maker. Grrr. Spent several hours looking. Later discovered that LG has a 20c

u. Ft refrigerator with freezer on top that would fit in my space for $1100 but ice maker extra. Reviews good and stated very quiet. Will not completely fill in my space but will leave 3 1/2 inches of open space on each side. Plus a lot less freezer and refrigerator storage space but quiet. Researching counter top ice maker to use as needed.

This the current side by side. Screenshot_20221106-025349.pngSo many decisions. The smaller refrigerator is at Best Buy but really need to look at it especially the inside to help make a decision.

Hello all - I haven't been here for a long time,@ having fell and broken my hip, had a partial hip replacement in late August, anyone here had one of those?  It seems to take forever to heal. My hip seems okay, but my legs, it's hard to walk, but I don't need a walker or cane, just need to exercise and do some walking.  I am slowly recuperating.  Sometimes I wonder if this is my new normal.  I am 82.

My DH is a great help. God bless you all.

@gloriajean : I have had a lot of orthopaedic surgery but nothing on the hip. But it can be painful and a long recovery. You and your DH will be in my thoughts and prayers for strength and energy during your recovery and healing.

@cowboy sam : Good Morning- I hate the time change. What are you doing today? I am doing ribs in the pressure cooker and then finish them in the oven. Easy sides like doctored up can baked beans and corn on the cob. Probably not much more since I am so tired and sleepy.

@SouthernBee

my house is" very quiet" right now-no tv on,no weather alert radio on,

and  " i need sound in my house"!!

So

when my refrigerator /freezer runs its  sounding louder.. because its "not" full of frozen meals, etc.,

my refrigerator is getting  empty as i haven't shopped lately  so it sounds louder ..

plus no other sounds in house right now...furnace isn't  even running !

I need some sound in my house so will turn tv on now..i feel too" alone" when its so quietSmiley Sad

My house is very quiet,too......but I love it that way! I am watching the deer right outside the family room laying in the side yard like they own the place. I have 12 acres of land but they have to be right there !

The NYC marathon is on now....I would like to watch it but I won't. I don't like the change of time either.I got up at 4:00, but it was 3:00 and that's it for the night.
