Thank you so much for your heartfelt reply.  I truly appreciate it.

I agree with you in that it's her way of coping with the situation.  Honestly, I am scared for her because she cannot or will not accept what ultimately is going to happen.  It may be tomorrow,  next month, or next year - nobody knows.  I cannot take on the burden of her grief.   That may come across as cold or maybe not even making sense, but that's how I feel sometimes.

I need to get over trying to "fix" her and accept her for who she is.  I still am angry about how she handled things with my mom too.  That's my issue to work on - or, one of many issues.  I just feel so consumed  sometimes with anger for the whole situation, and I blame her for making things worse.  Then she calls me to fix it.  One of these days, I won't be able to fix it.

Thanks for letting me vent.  We're all just trying to do the best we can.

HeartHeartHeart

I totally understand.  Don’t beat yourself up - I’m a fine one to talk.

DH and I have worn ourselves to exhausted nubs over the past week, working to FIX a totally self created problem of my Dads.  He calls for help 3 - 4 times a day, crabs about everything we do to fix what he calls about, and yet won’t accept that he needs to either live with us, have live in help, or go to assisted living, and is not able to live alone.

Having no sibs, I can’t imagine what I would do without my wonderful DH.

I know I sound, and feel like a horrible daughter.  It is emotionally and physically exhausting, frustrating, scary, and very sad.

my apologies for this outburst.  we are all carrying burdens I know

You're not a horrible daughter.  You are a loving and caring daughter.  Heart

I'm sure it's so hard for your dad to accept he cannot live alone.  There are so many emotions tied into dealing with an elderly parent.  It's emotionally draining.

Bless your DH for supporting you.  It's tough a tough road to walk.  I'm glad you're not alone.

Vent away.  We're here for you.  (((Drythe)))

idk why other things are always marketed as - tastes just like meat

if u dont want to eat meat - that is fine - there is nothing worng with plant based food

it makes it sound like - u are forced to eat this horrid thing but we made it so it wont taste like this horrible thing - sigh

a chocolate chip cookie will never say - it tastes just like kale

bc it is purrfect and is marketed as choc chip cookie

but dont tell me - sugar free, gluten free, fat free tastes just the same

you wont notice the difference

at that point - go to the hospital bc you lost your ability to taste

or ur brain doesnt work - one or the other

ER STAT!

@Drythe  my thoughts and prayers are with you.  It's not an easy road you're on.   So many of us have been there. One positive to take away..............we survived it with good listening  friends to vent to............so vent away.  You do not sound like a horrible daughter.   Heart
