It's hot and stormy here today. Maybe we'll be lucky and get a dry day tomorrow, but storms are forecast again for Friday. I'm so sick of all the rain we've had lately. Sounds like it will come to an end next week though--high and dry, near 100 degrees with 100+ heat indexes.🥵
The storm knocked out my internet, so I'm using the cell. I hope they can get it back on soon. Everything is getting so expensive I don't want an even higher cell bill this month!😩
@geezerette : Yikes- I am struggling with the 90 something temperatures. Just woke up hearing very loud and strong down pouring of rain. Stay cool and safe,🤗♥️🥤🥤🥤

Good news..
i have a someone to mow my yard for me starting next Wed.the 15th and i can afford him!!
He is the roofers son and he told me he would mow on Wednesdays in the afternoon when he is done working w/his dad doing roofing jobs.
He prefers to be paid in cash each time...so now i need to get extra cash on hand as i'm used to paying by check at end of month.

Good Morning Preds and Friends!

Apologies, this is going to be long.
Monday night during dinner, my sister calls my daughter's phone and asks for me. She said she's been calling and calling and I wasn't answering. I told her I never got a call from her. She said "I probably have her a list not to accept her calls." I don't, but okay. She's making small talk and all of a sudden breaks down into hysterical crying. We're all sitting there looking at each other and wondering what is going on. She finally says something is really wrong with my dad. I asked her what happened. More crying, no words.
At this point, I'm really annoyed because I know something is wrong and I'm getting nowhere with this. She finally tells me that he wasn't feeling good all day. He was sitting on the couch eating a banana and passed out. She had to shake him until he came to. Immediately I say he needs to get to the emergency room. Then she goes into "I have to ask him." I said you can't ask him. He has to get there now. More of, he won't go, I have to ask, round and round we go. Then she says, the same thing happened Thursday night. He was sitting at the table right before dinner and he passed out. She said it looked like he was having convulsions. No one freaking told me. I talk to him every single day. All weekend she was texting me about various things.
I asked her to put him on the phone and he said he was laying down and didn't want to go. I said he needed to go immediately. Either I will call an ambulance or come there myself and take him. He finally gives in, and my sister said they'll get ready to go and I will meet them there.
When I get to the ER, they're sitting in the waiting room. It's about 7 pm at this point, and the ER is packed. People are everywhere. It's like a scene from a movie. So we sit and wait and wait and wait. They checked his vitals, took blood and sent him back out to wait. By hour 3, we was getting very agitated and annoyed. He said he just wanted to go home. She jumps up and said she'll go get the car. I blurted out "you cannot take him home. He needs to be seen by a doctor tonight." She's crying again, he wants to go home, I'll watch him "real good every minute." She's convinced that because he was eating a banana, that it "clogged" his airway and that's why he passed out anyway.
At this point, I'm beyond super annoyed and I tell them we are not leaving. They will eventually get us into a room and that's that. About an hour later, they finally call us back and get him into a room. We waited over an hour for the doctor, but we were making progress. The'yre still going with the banana clogged his airway story, and bless the doctor for not laughing out loud with that. He asked him if he was choking or had trouble swallowing. Of course the answer was no. He said it's likely related to his heart and he needs to be admitted.
Her response was that was a great idea, and they can figure out what's going on. SMH. It's about 1 am, and they move him to a room. The nurse was doing her thing getting him admittted and I leave.
Tuesday, they scheduled him for an echocardiogram and some other tests. The cardiologist came in and told him his heart was only beating in 30s and 40s and "pausing" for 4-5 seconds and causing him to pass out. He recommended a pacemaker.
They put the pacemaker in yesterday, and he seems to be doing pretty good. He had a slight complication because the surgical site was swelling terrilbly. It looked like a grapefruit. They called the cardiologist and said because he's on blood thinners, he's bleeding at the surgical site and the blood is pooling. He had 2 nurses come down from the OR. They were pressing on it so hard trying to break it up. It was very painful for him, but it worked. They're going to evaluate it today and decide whether he's coming home or staying another day.
All in all, he's doing pretty good. They're confident that the pacemaker will keep his heart in a regular rythym now and prevent the fainting.
