13+ inches of snow in Southern Maryland yesterday.

Power was off from 11 a.m until 11 p.m. but our generator kept us from freezing.  Thankful we made the investment a few years back.

So many stuck on Interstate 95 for HOURS and no end in sight.  A 48 mile backup because of truck accidents.  No way to get to them to bring food or gas.  Just a huge mess.

No wonder people move to Florida

@Witchy Woman , here in the western mountains of North Carolina, we had rain, turned to a mix, then snow with high winds. We lost power all day yesterday. We will have to invest in a generator. First winter here. Many are still without power.

Lately, I've been watching Youtube videos of bakeries in Korea making over-the-top cakes and desserts.  Really fascinating to see those big mixers whirling all that sugar, eggs and flour.  Not to mention the cream cheese icing!

It makes me feel like I've had too much to eat without touching anything.

i had lovely weather... sunny or overcast in the low to high 30s but NO snow

and what did i wait up to this morning? 

SNOW!!!!! awl u peeps didn't have to share with me... ai was happy being snowless

Friends share cupcakes, cookies, chocolate... ai will be shoveling after i drink my cawfee... gotz about 5 inches and overnights will be 20s so it won't be melting but become a solid block - snow will be stopping around 8am

As predicted, woke up to a winter wonderland this am.  Very optimistic our new driveway plower will show up to take care of our long driveway.  DH used to snow blow the driveway, but 

I forced him to give it up when he reached a certain age.  

Winston is sitting on a broad windowsill in our FR amazed at the view.  The trees covered in snow are pretty to look at.  I hope everyone is doing well and surviving winter weather.   Not fun for anyone without power, to be sure.  That huge highway backup was beyond belief, and we felt so sorry for all involved.

Love the kitty digging.  I have some sweet memories of my boys playing in the snow.

Just a dusting here -- thankfully.  But now, very cold.

I'm trying to remind myself why I was looking forward to the cold weather.

Now I'm looking forward to Spring!

dear preds and friends 

It was -3 this morning and dear friend calls me...wanna go to wally and eat out afterwards?

yes!

But she stayed in car while her dh went in and we split up and shopped!

I bought several subs sandwiches(the 1/2 sized ones) and chicken salad ones,plus salads bowls,   2 boxes of cooked cheeseburgers,etc plus 6 jugs of water, plus4 -2lieter bottles of Sams cola..yep switched brands again....sigh  body betrayed me!

I beat her dh back to car and putting my bags,etc into the car...lol he was only going to buy 4 things on her list    but......lol

We ate at a family resturant where friend and i had breakfast the 2x2x2.(.2 scramled eggs,2 sausage links and 2 pancakes...her dh had a sandwich and deep fried mushroom. None of us ate all our food  as we got too full!

As,i was getting ready to leave i saw my cousin at a table..she is the one whose daughter&Son/l/law died of covid them her husband died from a massive stroke in December! She introduced me to her nieceMary, then i left so they could eat while their food was still warm.

Sigh..as i was bringing groceries i kept hearing this weird sound only to realize it was from me! I guess the cold air,lifting,etc had me wheezing!

So i'm done for the day and resting...as soon as i got out of cold air   and in  the house i stopped wheezing!

ok..i 'm done!
