I think your story is one of the many reasons I gave up cooking anything other than the basics.

First, DH has very simple taste, so nothing fancy need be prepared.

Second, things rarely turned out the way they were described = time, $$ and product wasted.  Not to mention feeling inadequate at making it work.

I gave away all my cookbooks as most had not been opened in years.

I'm impressed with your adventurous cooking, however, so keep experimenting

@Drythe, Such a lovely meal!  I do admire gourmet cooks, but that is not me.  My DD talks about NYT recipes...do you do those?

@cowboy sam, Don‘t underestimate your posts!  I love reading about all your adventures. What an active person you are.

@Yahooey, I think you are very hard on yourself.  Sure that many great cooks have moments of frustration.  You do just fine.

@Bri369, I completely understand what you are going through.

You are on the right path.  Keep the faith.  You can never make a mistake pushing for the right thing.  No regrets.
