@Mj12 @Yahooey @Bri369 @PamfromCT

After reading about all your cooking etc...i got so tired and turned my my heating throw  around me.

Then i thought i gotta do something so i has someting to talk about...so i washed a load of warm  holiday sweaters !

And took towels that had been sitting in dryer for a week and brought upstairs,folded item and put them away...

Then went back downstairs to hang my sweaters on clothes hangers   and place on clothes rack to dry  as nothing need to be put into dryer.

I has no turkey leftovers from grandaughters house..lol and i'm not wanting anything sweet to eat right now...do i open can of chilli,or heat up a frozen cheeseburger?????I don't think  i is hungry now tho.

@Yahooey

Thank you for understanding.  It'a all so mentally draining.  All we can do is the best we can do.  Heart

I'm too scared to try a fried turkey.  I see the frying apparatus on the stand, and I just picture the whole thing spilling all over and someone getting hurt.

The turducken makes me laugh.

@Mj12

I'm tired of cleaning too.  My hands are raw.  LOL

We bought a turducken a few years ago from Fresh Market. It wasn't worth the hype.

@Bri369  our local news on Thanksgiving morning had a clip with the local firefighters showing how to safely fry a Turkey. It still scared me.

I've seen those videos too.  I get very nervous around that kind of stuff.  Lighting the grill scares me too.

Deep fried turkey is becoming popular these days. Perhaps we'll give it a try next year. It sounds good! This Thanksgiving, we made desserts, then had the rest of Thanksgiving catered! HA! So stress-free! The guests were able to leave with leftovers, and cleanup was so much easier this year!! Very worth it!

Hello, very good wishes, and belated Thanksgiving Wishes to you!

@Yahooey   you wins the cooking championship with the big duck.

I like to think I’m a fairly good cook, but a duck - way over my head.  I’m afraid attention span would wander off and leave him hanging after day 1.

Thank you for the special bread crumbs.  I have been lost.  Today I think the problem has been solved.  I have posted here for years with VPN ‘on’, but something with the updates may have changed things.  I had trouble logging into the P board with VPN on, so I turned it off.

Today I was fussing about still not being able to get in here, when DH asked - ‘technical gibberish, mumble, techie mambo, gibberish, mumble, which means unless one turns VPN off a certain way, it turns it’s self back on.  WELL, I did the mumbo jumbo, and here I are!  So, hello everyone, I Missed You All.

Thanks for the Thanksgiving recipes.  We had broiled Salmon and Halibut, braised Brussel Sprouts, Roasted tiny Potatoes, Peppers, and Green Beans, Tomato Aspic, Homemade French Bread, Baked Brie, Green Fig Relish, Pound Cake, and Lemon Curd.

I did not eat at all on Friday!

So, Everyone hold hands, be careful crossing the street, and let’s meet at the playground tomorrow! ♥️♥️♥️

between the winter dryness and the constant washing - my fingerprints are wonky

none of my devices recognize me

if apple is so smart - summer fingerprint - washing too much fingerprint

i had a major fail - saw a video where u fried shalots starting with cold oil for the skeerdy kats - takes 20 minutes, then fried the breadcrumbs using the same oil- take those out and fried sage and rosemary - everything crumbly and would be good as a topping on mashed - veg etc

so when i went to TJ - they were sellig shallots by the piece and i found the fattest double clove/bulb types - this should have been a warning - the cashier charged me for extra bulb bc he was feeling them and not looking at them -

i started the cold frying - had to pour a lot of oil in there - 1/2 hr not even beige

turned the flame higher - 45 min light limp color - it was well over an hour and i even took some out in case i eas crowding - nope - even the small batch that i took out didnt fry up - used a ton of paper towels - willing them to crisp up - nope

did not fry the bread crumbs - did fry the sage and rosemary  - no one really took any of the herbs - tossed the oil - the 4.00 shallots, my 1 hr + time, the wads of paper towels -

frying is not my friend

about the gigantic duck - it is the pic that adds 10 lbs and also i didnt know how to carve the back side -i did pull some of the meat off  bc usually they cut up into pieces - so i took it home and ate it - lots of meat left - 🤫
