Good Morning: Already tired. Table set. Collards cooking. Made three loaves of pumpkin bread. Didn't turn out pretty. Top a little dark cause center was gummy. Just cut one loaf. Taste better than what it looks. Should have added a little more pecans. I used vanilla and cinnamon and needs a little something extra. I should have checked all my spices before going shopping. Oh well. DH said he would go to Sam's in the morning and hope they will have pumpkin and sweet potato pie . I am running out of refrigerator space because ham and turkey are still thawing. I am using flat containers that can be stacked. Guys just don't understand the holiday stress. I am washing dishes as I complete something and determined to have the dishwasher empty and ready for use on Thursday.🤗❤️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤

@SouthernBee

I've cleaned the kitchen so many times.  I've ran the dishwasher twice.

Maybe your temperature is off in your oven?  Can you check it with an oven thermometer?

Your shopping trips are way more adventurous than I would ever manage.

I'm 10 minutes from a large Food Lion, so it makes life pretty easy.

I do enjoy reading about all the cooking and shopping going on, but I'm sitting this one out Cat LOL

Happy Thanksgiving to all...

I'm lucky to get in and out of the grocery store without killing someone.  LOL

My neighbor lady came over before dark yesterday  and since i wanted all the Christmas lights left on my fir tree last year,we needed to plug them in to see if they worked?

Yes,they did  and the fir tree had grown taller and wider  all i can say is..its perfect Heart and so pretty after dark.Smiley Happy

Neighbors yard also looked so nice how they had it decorated.Smiley Happy

I guess we needed to have something to brighten our neighborhood to look at after dark.

Hope you all can have something in your life right now to smile about.

@Bri369 there was no deboning.... it came with stuff

stuff i didnt anticipate - i have never cooked or debone a whole chicken

usually i just buy a package of chicken thighs

i have done a whole turkey - but dont remember cutting off the extra stuff

cornish game hens are small and i can handle it easily

this humungous duck doesnt fit in my hands to maneuver-

i got freakish tiny hands... need 2 hands for everything

then i dont wanna touch anything... the washing of hands and washing.. sigh

anyway - i started with the santoku knife that  i usually use for everything

hacking off the exta stuff and didnt know whether i hacked off enough

who knows? i don't -

then i was supposed to poke holes with the tiny paring knife

no can do.... the layer of fat - was hard to puncture and i couldnt see if it was done

onto the chef knife and cut slits so the fat can drain

i line the space with wee pads - so no spraying of stuff onto clean stuff

gosh -cleaning the sink - cleaning the counter - the pans - the knives

my hands are raw - lol

but i'm having a good time - will it taste good? - i dont know

today - it was trussed - aromatics in cavity and steamed for about an hour

will take pics of the dead duck stunner when roasted to perfection
