@GingerPeach wrote:It's raining again, which I love. If you're a pluviophile like me, you might even have rain recordings to help you sleep (or just occasionally enjoy).
Ever since I had my single pane windows replaced with double pane (years and years ago), I no longer hear rain on the roof. I do still hear it splashing through the downspouts, a sort of hollow, metallic sound.
I hope you all love rain sounds.
I couldn't find the exact sound I'm hearing on Youtube, so will just give you a random Google image:
@GingerPeach ...I'm happy to join you as a "pluviophile" of which I have never heard this term before until I saw your post and then googled for its definition...lol
I absolutely love everything about the rain...I find it soothing, comforting, therapeutic and love to open my windows and just enjoy the lovely sounds and smell of the rain and the beautiful glow afterwards...There are times when I will sit outside our front door where we have a long overhang and just take in the sound and smell during a soft rainfall and I also love walking in the rain.
I love the Ocean...being by the water...My very being just totally relaxes and the entire atmosphere encompasses me as if that is where I came from and where I belong...Maybe I was once a Mermaid...lol
My astrological sign is Cancer of which strongly links us to Water and I have found that everything I have read about my astrology sign is mostly very much true...so this would definitely explain why I feel my most true self when I am by water...or just enjoying a beautiful rain.
I am starting to get deep here now but I find it very interesting.
We are expecting rain this week!

So sorry to hear you haven't been feeling like yourself.
My little miss Kiku (of the alpaca sweater) has learned "dance," for which she gets a blueberry! Typically it consists of spinning in a circle. Also if I'm "dancing" she will jump around alongside me, plus do the spin. She gets a berry for all that, too.
Now to just capture it on video without getting my slippers in the frame.
ETA: I know we sometimes downplay our own problems or issues by comparing them to others who have more serious ones. In recent years I've learned that while the issues may be different, often the feelings are the same, and we shouldn't minimize how we feel. We are important, too.
Frankly, that was one of the things my mother (and probably so many mothers) got wrong and I always felt it was wrong, but not until recently did I understand why.
Nothing better than a blueberry!

She was in heaven this morning when I spilled a container of blueberries.
She got about half a dozen and I salvaged the rest. She's a good listener when it comes to "leave it."

Hello fellow pluviophile @MyShadowLove ![]()
Interesting, as my rising sign is Cancer. I was also born on a rainy day. I've loved rain always.
I also love the time right after a rain when the air is extra fresh and clear.
Here in the SF Bay Area we're finally getting significant rain, with more on the way. Thank you, Mother Nature!

Hello all Lovelies!
Hello @dooBdoo,
Sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well. I hope you are much better, really soon. I am glad you are honest and open. No want should hesitate to be open and honest here, just my thoughts. We are not angels, and sometimes our bodies act up. Yup, it sure happens. You are very brave, and always being positive, like so many here, it it is fine to talk about problems.
When I see the news about Gabby, that poor little girl. In between other stuff, I volunteered for a while for a domestic violence group advocating for women. I did not do much, but brought literature to police departments in my region. Something to give to women in bad situations. Who to call, where to go, etc. But my heart always went back to the elderly sick folks. Had to quit because of health issues, and now being much better, no volunteering due to pandemic.
So take care, Doo. Wish I had a magic wand and could sprinkle fairy dust to make you and everyone feel better!

@cowboy sam : Good Morning and hope you are feeling better.Currently a cool 51 degrees. I called my cousins wife to check on her last night. She is trying to adjust to living a lone. She was still living with her parents when she married my cousin. Then they had four children and never a dull moment. She still has two young grandchildren ages 3 months and 3 years and enjoying the afternoon visits. I made her laugh and giggle when I told her about my soap opera with the gifted plant 🪴 and the washing machine . I promised to stay in touch and she said she likes to get text messages and phone calls. Enjoy your day. 🤗❤️🥓🥓🥤🥤

Waving To Everyone...Happy Weekend!
I've been having problems signing into the forums for the past couple of days...I would keep getting the message..."Hmmm...information is incorrect"... or something to that affect...I couldn't get into my account or on the forums...I had to call Customer Service yesterday and the issue seemed to be cleared up until I logged on this afternoon and had the same problem...Now, Voila'... everything seems to be okay for now.
Has anyone else here been having any problems?...I also asked Customer Service if the forums will definitely be closing down and they said that they would be by the end of the year...I'm so saddend, as I'm not feeling all that comfortable about signing into the Proboards site at this point...The fact that it is a personal run website and not a corporation/company run website has me questioning security and how well developed and managed it is...So time will tell.
Meanwhile, where the heck is everybody?...It is so quiet on these forums and has been for quite a while now....Remember the good ole' days when they were so very active and there was so much sharing and fun...Sigh!
Well, I will be checking in with all of you from time to time this weekend and hoping to see you all...y'all (just for @SouthernBee)...lol
Sending Hugs To Everyone!
@dooBdoo ...Sending lots of hearts and hugs!...We lubs you and worry about you!...It was so good to see your post!

Just to lighten up my messages for the day!
My DIL’s friend is getting married next weekend, She is in the wedding, and so is my little GD. The little toot is going to be flower girl. Talk about high excitement.
Little toot always makes me laugh. We took her shopping for shoes for her dress. Got appropriate shoes, of course. But she is so fascinated with women’s very high heels. DIL and I had quite a laugh. She said if toot ever wore shoes like that, at 8 years old, Mom would get arrested. Lolita? I think the upcoming years with toot will be very interesting....buckle up.
