@Drythe, What a wonderful idea for gifts.  Love pretty glass myself.  I have a few pieces of my grandmother’s cut glass, which I treasure.  

Have you both heard of Herkimer crystal jewelry?  Supposedly the “only crystal found in America,” mined in Herkimer, NY.  they make pretty jewelry from it, some shows on HSN and some sold on Etsy, I know.  Given earrings for gifts.  What a hit!

Because so much is “out of vogue,” prices for many things are cheaper.  Not out of vogue for me.  Went through an antique store at Cape Cod.  Hard to walk, so much stuff.  I bought a couple crystal necklaces there for gifts, then another one for me at Etsy.  Not Herkimer, not a name brand, but so pretty for a special occasion .

I do miss doing it, however.

Always loved pumpkins and all things fall.  I have to resist buying pumpkins at every turn.  One year, we bought a huge supply, and it turned very cold in early November.

Everything froze and collapsed...what a mess!

Now, any pumpkins I have are artificial.

We've never had one trick or treater at Halloween.  It's too scary for them to come back through the woods!

No candy comes in the house because I would eat it all

Ours would too, but they are distracted most years by a huge hickory nut tree in our back yard.

Those things falling are like bombs!  And the sound of the squirrels gnawing through the husks to get to the nut is downright unsettling

All we have is woods, and that isn't bad, but I do love the water.

Wish I could see your collection!  Have always had a fascination with glass - Air & Fire.  Your Mom must have been an interesting person, and what fun collecting together!

I collect Carnival glass, fruit patterns.  Some say it is tacky, but I 

like it.  Also have a small collection of EAPG, no particular pattern, just what catches my fancy.

Hope you are able to find some pieces in your new home.  There used be tables and tables of it around here, but, as you know this type of thing is out of fashion now. 😕

@PamfromCT,  I knew ShowMe...  from many years back.   Even before she was adopted by Mr. Lucky, her dear Siamese kitty.   And then I participated on the Mr. Lucky threads after that, and a small (but mighty!) group of us...  including ⭐️Preds⭐️ and @loveschocolate...  started emailing with her when Marie learned of her own cancer diagnosis in 2015.   Long while ago, it seems.   (sigh)   Bittersweet memories.💔❤️

I also miss ShowMe, her posts were always very real, and interesting.  

I’m happy for your special relationship, can’t think of 3 more special people than the 3 of you.  She was one of those quiet, kind, unassuming, moving ahead with life, warriors.  Don’t you know she and Preds are Team Leaders there now?

I had a pretty good frozen Margherita at the other night, first one I’ve had in years.  🍸
