GM (ok technically GA) Preds and Friends! Heart

@Yahooey  I loved reading about your adventures.  So happy you had a good time.

I went into the office today.  Smiley Surprised  It felt so strange but it's also so nice to see some coworkers I have missed.  I'll be ready for a nap in a few hours.  Smiley LOL

@Mj12

Is this a permanent move back to the office now?  Or will you be able to work from home still?

@Mj12

do you have new mandatory rules in place now? like.....

get in - check emails while drinking beverage of choice

have a quick meeting

nap

lunch

nap

quick check of emails and ready to go home

i heard it was dangerous for one's health if you go cold turkey on naps

ur body must be acclimated slowly

and i'm glad u liked my story

Not permanent (thank God).  I think after Labor Day we will be asked to go into the office 2-3 days per week, and work the rest from home.  But with the variants and all that, who knows.

thank you for all the good wishes and prayers

first of all - my niece and brother did GREAT -

we both had a blast - it was a non stop gab, walk, eat - rest - REPEAT for 3 days

u all know i like to spin a yarn.... LOL pun intended - y'all missed me???

packing... i travel really light - i used a carry on suitcase for 10 days in Europe

okay, it was expandable... but u get the drift

i have my backpack ... so do i use a tote bag or that carry on suitcase?

i dont have a smaller rolling bag and carrying a tote up and down stairs (yes i know i would have to carry the suitcase too) and the long subway train ride to my friend could be tiresome on my shoulders

carry on suitcase it is - all 3 of my tanks, shorts and toiletries were in...

met my friend - loaded up the car - starbucks in cupholder and off we go

GAB GAB GAB throughout the long ride -

her son lives in the outskirts of Boston and dinner reservations were for 7:30

did i mention traffic? it took 5 1/2 hrs and in the hotel at 6pm

freshened up and dinner at 7:30 - outdoor Mexcian - located at a large outdoor shopping mall which included Whole Foods, movie complex - so,  it was pretty big

me - i'm looking for an immersion stick blender - is there a Williams Sonoma here?

her son - no, but there is a nearby Target or BBB you can try

me - nah - that's okay

yes - you can recall this conversatin later on

he frequents this mall quite a bit and eats at the various food places

walking distance from his home - i treated them both to dinner

friend is treating me to hotel with her points from her credit card 👍

we went back to the hotel - gab - watched the olympics and went to sleep 2am

i woke at 5am (WHY?) or earlier depending on when my cat wakes me up at HOME

friend slept till 7am - LIKE A NORMAL PERSON

drove into Boston - since we have been there many times

was just planning to walk around and first thing - Mike's Pastries - CANNOLI time

always a line - always good - in Little Italy

i was planning to buy 1 - ONE

did i buy 1 - NOOOOO bc my friend said - i'm going to buy 2

so i got Florentine cannoli and an espresso one

she got florentine cannoli and a piece of black forest cake

weather was glorious - not humid and 80

we sat outdoors and ate our breakfast - yes cannoli is a breakfast food

ate 1.5 and threw the other 1/2 out - i should have bought 1 - peer pressure

onward to walking and met the son for lunch and sat outdoors s by the water

lunch was good - friend and i both had crab cakes - son had fish tacos and we all shared the fried calamari- he treated us

he drove us back to where we parked the car (1/2 hr walk) and he left for work

we walked more - Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market rested

wasn't really hungry for dinner yet - let's drive back to the mall for whole foods dinner - didn't like anything and wasn't really hungry - let's walk around

WILLIAMS SONOMA - there it is

guess what i bought -

i said to my friend - he said there was no WS

friend - he doesn't know what WS is LOL

went to CAVA -  a chain that serves meats over rice and greens - kinda like a Chipotle - brought that back to the hotel - very good

i was pooped and sleeping by 10 having only slept 3 hrs the night before

dropped the box in the suticase and off we went to get gas for the ride home

Costco Gas - next to a Costco - i need Lavazza whole beans - let's go

no coffee beans but my friend insisted that she buys croissants for my mom

have u seen the container it came in? 10 croissants in a huge box shoved bc it was too big - next to my other huge box

so.... good thing i brought the suitcase

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ to you all

My DH's company (which is owned by the French), made them go back to masks today, even though he's fully vaccinated. They had only been maskless the last few weeks. They never got rid of the daily temperature checks before entering the building.

We are back to wearing masks in DC (so yes masks while I'm at work - except when in our individual offices).  Only 2 people allowed in a rest room at one time (no problem since this place is empty).  Hand sanitizing stations everywhere.

We're back to masks here too.  I almost feel like we'll always have to wear a mask.  I don't mind wearing a mask.  At first, I did.  I got used to it.  It's like a security blanket.

@Mj12  that's good that you don't have to go in 5 days a week.  It's nice to have that option.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well and that @Yahooey had such a good time in Boston.  And the Italian section for meals and pastries?  Quincy Market?  What is not to like?  glad your arrangements for your mom went well.  You should take a break more often, maybe so?

Winston did well at his checkup at the vet this am.  We thought he was doing much better, but we are sure relieved our baby is fine.

Getting ready for GS’s visit.  He should be bringing his bike to go on riding trails with DH, his guitar, etc., etc.  At least he is vaccinated, and the mask mandates are back.  A museum or two, his favorite foods - yes, I get a current list from his mom.

Anybody interested in coming?  You really would be bored, I think.  And he likes Rice Krispies for breakfast, no gourmet food as well.

Lubs and best wishes to all.
