Shetland Islands - known for their sheep (wool) - hardier stock - wool is not as soft as Merino - are know for Fair Isle design - the fishermen would wear the keps (caps) and had them lined for extra warmth. Anyway each year - at the Shetland Wool Festival - they would release a pattern and this year it is crofter's kep
an interview with the woman who designed the hat - the interviewr is her grandaughter
side and crown of hat - my first time at this style
