What happened with DD last night?  How did the proposal go?

@Bri369 , it went perfectly. I will talk to her later this evening when she's going to stop by. She was totally surprised! ❤️

Oh, no!  I didn't get to see your post, @Cakers3!  I see you popped in on ShowMe's thread, too.   My heart sang when I saw your name!   I've missed you.   I hope everything is well with you and your loved ones.❤️

but to make a key urself and let urself come and go is unacceptable

this is ur dream home and not theirs

huggies to u - and u can vent anytime

@Yahooey , you are so sweet! Thanks! Unacceptable is right. Yesterday at my niece's graduation party my MIL told me they were going to North Carolina next week for awhile and I asked where they were going.....she said "your house". I was dumbfounded. The look on my face must have said it all....she said "just kidding". I don't believe her. She will call my DH sometime and end up at our house. I need 🍷.

@loveschocolate

Sounds like my MIL.  FIL was a doll.  She was the kind who would push every inch and then some, complaining about me all the way.  High Level passive aggressive.

After many years, had to ask DH to move her back a few feet, or I would no longer be around her.  I have a bad temper which I hold on to fiercely, but was about to singe her.  FIL was present when DH talked to her, and lord love him, he took care of it.  Next time she tried to take major advantage, while being mean to me, FIL very quietly put her in her place.

Bet she will will be joining you for the mild NC winters!  I’m nearby, The 2 dogs, 3 cats and I volunteer to come for a visit, and be very rowdy!

Change the locks, mail back the clothes they ‘forgot’. 🙂

Tell them for security, since the house had been on the market, you didn’t know ‘who’ might have keys!

Begin as you mean to Continue.

@Drythe , thanks for understanding. I'm glad your DH stood up for you. I don't think my DH has it in him. I don't mind if they come for an "occasional" SHORT visit, but their behavior has had me speechless until now. Now, I'm just angry. I should have KNOWN this would happen when they "crashed" on our closing of our house. Yep, they did it. 😡

"Begin as you mean to Continue."

Love that, @Drythe.❤️   Wisdom that applies to so many of us in so many difficult circumstances or relationships.

(((@loveschocolate)))   Unfortunately, it sounds like it's escalating with potential to be out of control.   Your DH might've not had it in him in the past, or decided this wasn't the "battle to pick," but if your inlaws decide to make your new home their new  home...  something's gonna have to give and I don't want it to be you!😟   I know you have the tools and insight to work with this, but even so you might want to talk with a family counselor with your DH there to get good perspective now.

Love you, my friend!❤️

@dooBdoo , thanks 😊. Miss you!

@Yahooey ...Aww, I "mizzes" all of  you too...We just had some major work going on in our house as well as some personal life stuff that tend to rear their heads every now and then and, with everything else that we all have been dealing with over the past year and a half, it just all got somewhat overwhelming for me and so I tend to retreat and try to crawl into my own personal space for a little while every now and then...I think many of us have found that the pandemic has also brought out and exacerbated some things that we had already been dealing with beforehand and it has awakened us in many ways...Am I making any sense at all?...lol

I have the cutest story to share with all of you...We discovered a Robin's nest at the top of one of our downspouts where it curves in right under the eave of the roof area...perfect protective spot, although I worry about a wind coming along and blowing it down, but I think it is pretty secure...Whenever I checked, the Mama bird was always sitting in the nest so the eggs had not hatched yet...However, when I checked this morning, I saw the top of one precious tiny little head wobbling all around so we have at least one little baby that has hatched...I did some research and each egg hatches a day apart in the order in which they were laid...It is so precious to watch and Mama & Papa are such excellent parents watching and guarding the nest ever so carefully.

I'm helping and doing a very good job also!...lol  Heart

@cowboy sam ...I just saw your posts after I had posted...Lubs you too! Heart

Aw. what a treat to see you here, too, @MyShadowLove!

I've missed you.

Oh, my, yes...  I can relate to your comment about the pandemic's effect on us.

You do make sense.

My tendency to be quiet, shy, and introspective, and to sort of "cocoon" at home, has been amplified.   Good in same ways, not as good in others.

I also have to severely limit reading and participating in social media -- here on the Q, I had to completely stop reading certain topics, and I've never done that before.   In the past, even if I felt I had to "sit on my hands" with certain subjects, at least I could read and think about them...  but in the past year that has changed for me.   I want everyone to treat each other with more generosity and empathy, and it bothers me to see bad feelings rising and morphing into grudges that carry forward.

Good people need each other, and we need to really listen and talk with each other rather than talking at each other.

It's so rare to see someone say "I never thought of it that way" and really give weight and value to the opposing views -- I think we've grown too edgy, nerves and emotions close to the surface, and more ready to argue a point endlessly instead of reflecting on other perspectives.

And then, to add to the problem, we marinate in negativity, in complaining, and in cynicism -- an indulgence which is not healthy and is contagious.

I think my emotions are too tender.  Not necessarily a good thing.

Oosh!   Sorry to go on and on.🙃🤗

@MyShadowLove, Your robin story is enchanting!   A special day dedicated to each hatchling, to celebrate life and new beginnings!

Thank you for sharing with us.❤️

I miss your posts, too, @Tique!   (I do have a General Hospital question to ask later, on one of your threads in TV and Movies...  I need to locate the video I wanted to ask about, and then I'll post about it over there.)

That was so kind of you to find and post @cowboy sam's lovely finds.   You're a gem.❤️
