@Yahooey , you are so sweet! Thanks! Unacceptable is right. Yesterday at my niece's graduation party my MIL told me they were going to North Carolina next week for awhile and I asked where they were going.....she said "your house". I was dumbfounded. The look on my face must have said it all....she said "just kidding". I don't believe her. She will call my DH sometime and end up at our house. I need 🍷.

Sounds like my MIL.  FIL was a doll.  She was the kind who would push every inch and then some, complaining about me all the way.  High Level passive aggressive.

After many years, had to ask DH to move her back a few feet, or I would no longer be around her.  I have a bad temper which I hold on to fiercely, but was about to singe her.  FIL was present when DH talked to her, and lord love him, he took care of it.  Next time she tried to take major advantage, while being mean to me, FIL very quietly put her in her place.  

Bet she will will be joining you for the mild NC winters!  I’m nearby, The 2 dogs, 3 cats and I volunteer to come for a visit, and be very rowdy!

Change the locks, mail back the clothes they ‘forgot’. 🙂

Tell them for security, since the house had been on the market, you didn’t know ‘who’ might have keys!

@Drythe , thanks for understanding. I'm glad your DH stood up for you. I don't think my DH has it in him. I don't mind if they come for an "occasional" SHORT visit, but their behavior has had me speechless until now. Now, I'm just angry. I should have KNOWN this would happen when they "crashed" on our closing of our house. Yep, they did it. 😡

Love that, @Drythe.❤️   Wisdom that applies to so many of us in so many difficult circumstances or relationships.

(((@loveschocolate)))   Unfortunately, it sounds like it's escalating with potential to be out of control.   Your DH might've not had it in him in the past, or decided this wasn't the "battle to pick," but if your inlaws decide to make your new home their new  home...  something's gonna have to give and I don't want it to be you!😟   I know you have the tools and insight to work with this, but even so you might want to talk with a family counselor with your DH there to get good perspective now.

who's growing stuff in the garden? what is happening?

tomato seedlings were started indoors - everything else was seeds directly into soil

now we wait... 

i gotz no flowers - meaning from tomatoes, squash and string beans yet

i can't tell if all the basil seeds i threw down - are basil or weeds

it hasn't developed enough yet - i started 3 times - first 2 didnt take (too cold?)

im hoping it is basil - i'm knida behind sechedule -

usuallyi'm getting my first crop in late July -

i  make lots of pesto and freeze in single portions so i can have throughout the yr

It's been storming here for a while now, a lot of thunder.  Heavy rain at times.  I don't think it will last much longer.

I have some basil and mint and parsley in a pot.  Everything else I'd kill or would get eaten by squirrels and bunnies and everything else that roams around out there.  LOL

Do you plant any type of lettuce or greens?

just took a look - the 2 main leaves looked like basil but the 2nd 2 leaves doesn't look loke basil - wrinkly leaves - 

maybe the seeds just weren't good - start again with another batch of seeds?

brb - will sprinkle more seeds

some greens but they get eten by i dont know what - so i stopped

not the whole leaf - the leaf itslef has holes
