Good morning, @Yahooey, @Mj12, and everyone who pops in or peeks in this morning!

Poignant thoughts and memories of dear Preds, and of her family especially during their first holiday season this year missing her physical presence but enveloped in her spirit and cloaked in her love and her legacy that dwells within them all... and her healing laughter that rings in the bells of holiday joy.  I feel so lucky to have known her.

@dooBdoo  Your post made me cry because I still have raw feelings about Preds and also for an extremely close friend, for which I solely went through her last few months with her.

You always post such eloquent thoughts, so beautiful. You obviously have a beautiful heart, soul and spirit.

The posters here are a bunch of phenomenal, sweet, kind and caring people. The Creme De La Creme!

@Coquille,  Oh, my, I'm sorry you cried but I understand, too, and appreciate your lovely, bittersweet message.

I'm so sorry your friend passed away.   My condolences to you and to all who love her.    I hope you can feel the (((gentle hugs))) across the miles.

These first holidays without the people we loved so fiercely and who were pieces of our hearts can be so difficult.   

We try to make new memories and traditions while holding precious those from days gone by...  melding the two into a new experience that preserves the love and makes it a tribute to the people we loved and always will love.

May you, and Preds' family and friends, and all who grieve, be well, and safe, and comforted in the knowledge that our loved one's spirit is still here, with us, guiding us, eternally a part of us.

A night owl here, sleep does not come easily to me. Dear Preds and I used to talk late at night.  One night we were talking late and I said I was getting sleepy and she said, 'you go on and get some sleep, I'll be up for a while'  I felt as if she was awake watching over me when I went to sleep.

Drat those Onions!

My goodness, we are in the midst of onions today...   This memory of yours hit home with me, too.   I think you summed up what I (and maybe all of us) feel...  she was a comforting presence with an uncanny way of making us feel safe, shielded, protected.   She gave me assurance that "everything's going to be okay" in a way I can't explain or describe.   What a gift.

I miss her so.
