@SouthernBee

years ago I had pink eye and needed to put drops in

but I never put drops in - I couldn't do it

either someone dropped it in my eye and i was blink city

when I had to do it myself - I had to use a mirror - contort myself so I can see

but not really see - OY! it was drama

now I need drops for dry eye -

I can now open bottle in the dark - and squirt - done and feel so comfy

don't get me started when I see people play with contacts

can't look at that either lol

@Yahooey : I had eye surgery on my left eye when I was 4. Had to have regular eye exams and drops to dilate my eye. The eye doctor and any other person had trouble getting the drops in. The doctor understood that with my cerebral palsy that I cooperated as much as possible. One time he heard my mother talking to me before we went in the exam  room. He pulled her aside .He said: Ms. Julia-  This is the sweetest most precious patient: she does her best, she didn't scream, holler, kick, pinch or spit. I wish other kids could watch her and learn what to do. Yes, I miss my precious Mother- yesterday was her Birthday. After any doctor visit- she would always reward me with a small gift .

I buried my father today, he would have been 96 at the end of September. A loving husband for over 74 years, a father and grandfather.

I don't feel sad because he had a long life and he is no longer in pain. He was relatively healthy, walking to the coffee shop to meet his cronies using a rollator. Last August, one thing led to another and he went into a nursing facility in Sept. He had visitors everyday and then everything shut down. Affected by short term memory loss but he knew who we all were. He no longer walked but was in good spirits. When we couldn't visit, he deteriorated. Visiting hours started Sept 1 with 2 visitors per time slot. Mom and my brother went that day. My sister, BIL and nephew visited 9/3 Thursday. I went Sunday 9/6 with my niece. I was told he wasn't feeling well and was getting IV fluids and do I still want the visit. I declined, because I didn't want him jostled - getting him dressed and brought down to a common room wasn't easy on him so we spaced the visits a few days apart. My brother got the call at 1am.
I saw a yellow butterfly flitting by my garden that afternoon and I felt better.

We all went fishing a lot when I was younger. He will be fishing tomorrow with the sun shining bright, inhaling fresh sea air where the fish are plentiful. We sent him off with a rod, reel and a mini tackle box. I love you. RIP dad

(((@Yahooey)))  Hi, my friend.   I just saw this and wanted to offer my condolences and love to you.   Thank you for sharing your dear father's memory with us at such a tender time.   You carry forward his legacy and his light.   You are his legacy and light and I am lucky and blessed to know you.   You are wonderful.❤️

I haven't been posting so much....my kitty cat "Harry Potter" went missing a week ago, and I'm heartbroken 😔. He came to us as a stray 15 years ago, and his vision has gotten very, very poor over the last year. I've done everything I can think of to find him and I'm starting to lose hope. So many tears, so many sleepless nights.

💔

Oh, my.   This breaks my heart.  @loveschocolate,  I didn't see any recent updates and wanted to add my prayers for kitty Harry Potter, and for your family, too.❤️    (((hugs)))
