PSA Stop and Shop Specials

I went to the market early this morning

got me a watermelon $3.50 on sale and cherries $1.50/lb 5 lb limit

will need a $25 purchase

Butter $2.50 - limit 1 

Hotel - Breakstone - Cabot (today is the last day - 3 day special)

came back and was sweating as usual

showered and had lunch

I'm eating these flowers from my scallion plant

very delciate in flavor

my niece told me they are edible - aren't they pretty?

PSA - scallion and chive blossoms

Chive Blossoms are purple and can be eaten the same way - gosh they are pretty

I'm told and I did a test - when I sprinkle them on top of my sandwich - I couldn't really taste them, not like a big bang - when I took one and ate it by itself, you can taste the very slight, NOT bitter taste of onion 

niece said it is best to eat them on a very light food, not too heavy

ie - on a slice of tomato with oilive oil and sea salt with a sprinkle of these flowers

doesn't that sound good? 

a chefy flourish - i covered it with my bread but to see it all laid out in the open - yum - I had 3 flower buds - so I will  think of new ways to see it while eating it

@Yahooey ...I've heard of a lot of flowers that are edible but I don't recall eating any ...What an interesting garnish for  your tuna salad sandwich...It looks so yummy and pretty...What brand of tuna do you buy and what do you put in your tuna salad?

Garnishing tomatoes with olive oil and the scallion flowers sounds yummy too!

I love Summer eating with all the fresh vegetables and fruits available at the local Farmer's Markets.
