Re: Prayers this Sunday morning

Prayers already sent. I hate to say this but I am becoming desensitized to this. 20 years ago this would have haunted me for weeks, now I will just get busy with my day. I don't want to be like this but when this has become the new normal it happens. I feel like it is happening to a lot of people. Used to be everyone would call each other with "are you watching the news?" Now it is a little tribute on Facebook .

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

I agree with your post and your experience, as I'm beginning to feel the same way (not that I want to).

And when it comes to the whole 'terror attack on citizens' here in the US, we are only in the infancy stage relative to many other places in the world. So I ask myself, if we are getting desensitized at this early juncture, what is to become of us as this increases?

Is it the sense of helplessness? Is it that we know we can't stop it, so why suffer with being tied up in knots over it? Is it because it just didn't hit close enough to home yet? Is it some kind of self defense mechanism? Are we loosing our empathy, compassion, and humanity?

Maybe a little of all of that.
