DH had an emergency appointment at our local eye center this afternoon and was diagnosed with a detached retina in his right eye. He will have surgery on Monday, March 23 and has strict orders to follow prior to and after surgery. Saturday and Sunday he must lay on his left side 24 hours a day. After surgery on Monday he must lay or sit face down for five days, Tuesday through Saturday. He can get up to eat and go to the bathroom; that's it! The hospital where he will have his surgery is about 1 1/2 hours from where we live.

So, we ask for safe travel and a successful surgery and recovery. TIA for your prayers.

Certainly praying for your DH, Anika. My husband had that surgery years ago. Praying for all the people here!

Anika, will say many prayers for your husband good heavens that is quite a ordeal he is going to have to go through. Good that he has you to love him and help him so sorry to read this.

Thank the Lord that J.C. came through his procedure. Asking for healing.

Thank you for the update on Callie. Praying she gets rehab or PT if that's what she needs. Sounds like I don't have enough information to understand this, but have prayed for her and am thankful for the degree of healing she has received. Glad the break was discovered so she can be treated. Hope someone is there to be her advocate. Praying for help now that she is at home. How about home health nurses?

Anika, have prayed for your hubby. Right now I know he's lying on his side and will be through tomorrow. Am praying he can do that without too much discomfort. Praying for a successful surgery on Monday and a complete recovery. Take care of yourself so you have the strength to be there for him.

Callie went home and is doing well. Her husband is home for the weekend and my DD will be going to help her out on Monday. She is able to walk but cannot get her brace on by herself. It seems she is going to continue to get help for her kids from her father and step mother. From what I understand she will be wearing the brace for 2-3 months to see how she heals. She may have to have surgery...but time will tell. So far, all is going better than expected.
