I bought two Powerball tickets today. This is the first time I've ever bought them. I let the machine pick the numbers for me. How do you find out the winning numbers? Also, are the tickets you buy today only good for tonight's drawing, or are they good until someone win? Obviously, I don't expect to win anything but do want to see the winning numbers. Also, I bought the tickets with the extra number but am not really sure what that means.
I apologize if these questions seem stupid, but I've never had a reason to want to know.

The tickets will be good only for tonight's drawing unless you asked them for a ticket for several draws (nights). Look on your ticket and it will tell you what date it's good for.
Your local news I'm sure will give the numbers but you can google powerball numbers tomorrow and find them that way. The drawing is tonight at 11.

And there are many ways to win lesser amounts. 3 numbers, 4 numbers matched, etc. you can take your ticket to any ticket seller tomorrow and they'll tell you if you won anything.

CNN's Ashley Banfield show just had an informative bit on the precautions one should take with this enormous jackpot...
Even hiring a body guard to walk to/in the bank...and living 'under the wire' so to speak for awhile...use your time wisely before you get to the bank!
Get a good tax attorney too and to set up an anonymous trust...

Hi @NickNack the drawing is tonight - I think it's 11pm eastern. You can find the winning numbers probably on many news sites, or on powerball.com. The tickets you bought are only good for tonight's game. Good luck!

I think you could have the money deposited directly in to your bank account, so that way one would not have to worry about walking in with a check.

Wouldn't that work out well. Unfortunately, you have to deal with the physical ticket...see? It's not as if you can fax a copy of the ticket to the bank...
