My power was restored also only to be told it would be turned off again last night. Luckily the winds were not as bad as predicted so my county along with 5 other counties ,along the coast,,power off was canceled. So hopefully they can get a better grip on those horrible fires.  Now to get some food back in that refrigerator..It is about empty as it was a day to day basis for awhile . Hope everyone is and stays safe..

@MUNCHIE   I know how you feel we are still waiting to hear if we are going off again today.

We are shopping day to day too not sure whether to put in a wash or not! but enjoying our ‘normalcy’ the minute.  Stay safe.

@dulwich   Oh no....the power outage seems to be a plague in California.   Have you been impacted by the northern CA fires?  The winds are particularly ferocious today...I hope all is well for you.

Power hasn't been shut off in my area, but for the past two days, I've had intermittent cell phone service.  I'm wondering if it has anything to do with interruptions elsewhere?

I'm moving and canceled my landline two days ago.  The cell is my only phone for a while

@september when our power was off my cell phone was very hit and miss,  I found I could only answer calls if I went outside then could hardly hear alternatively it would suddenly work fine.  Who knows.  Hope your power comes back soon.

Yes! I just got the answer to this today. Cell phone towers ARE affected by power outages. There is a bill being introduced this Friday in the California State Assembly to REQUIRE cell phone providers to have back-up electricity sources in the state.
Also, during the power outage, we had a battery-operated radio and our local radio station kept saying stay inside and use your HEPA filters to insure the smoke and particulate matter is removed from the indoor air.
Um...well...our indoor air filter requires electricity! It was driving us crazy everytime we heard that!

key. City. In Sonoma county never lost power, yet a couple blocks away, my son,s city lost power.  My other son in Windsor got evacuated. Was able to go home yesterday.   Lost over 500.00 food, but home was saved.  Now I can relaxed a little from worri ng.   I need food, but will wait a few days. I made a big pot of chicken soup.  I,m just glad the fire here is slowing down.  God bless all the firefighters, and everyone who came to our rescue.  My home was not in danger yet like 2017, but so many were and a power outage was the least of our worries unless it was a medical situation and life threatening.  Gee, without some phones,I wonder if people had to talk to one another like the olden days.  I have many flamless candles in every room and had bags of ice from my icemaker just in case my power went out.  Living alone you learn to be prepared to survive.  To go bag ready for me and my furry love.
