If you need stamps, now is the time. All postage increases on July 12th to 82 cents.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Postage increase July 12th

Last July they just increased it five cents. Pretty soon it will be a dollar a stamp

If only the price increase would discourage companies from sending junk mail...

I still have a few more years worth of Forever stamps.  When they first came out I purchased $100 worth. yahoo.gif

I still pay all my bills by check, write letters & send cards by snail mail.

I am a huge card sender and I write letter as well. It brings me joy. I stocked up on stamps. I think postage rates in the USA are still a bargain in this country. I don’t ship packages but for first class mail it’s a deal.

While none of us wants to pay more for postage, I agree with @Miss Pepsi about postage rates.  The post office delivers mail and packages right to your door through rain, snow, sleet, hail and heat.  I can always count on mail delivery.  That being said, mailing packages is quite expensive.  I have to think about size and weight of items I buy as gifts due to mailing costs.

Actually, junk mail subsidizes the cost of first class mail.  USPS needs more of it, not less.

@Biftu  @gidgetgh

That made me laugh .... spending $200 to save on a five-cent stamp increase?

Who could she possibly be sending out so many stamped envelopes to?

If she has a business, she could print postage.  I doubt she'd be putting dozens of stamps on envelopes.

I'm obviously missing something here. Woman LOL
