Does the post office answer their phones any more ? I've called 3

and nobody picks up. Have they discontinued picking up the phone?

It depends on the post office.  I've had luck with some and with others, the phone just rings and rings and no one ever answers.

I've called post office branches in the past and most of the time they don't answer the phone.  When I've called the main post office in my town they do anwer the phone.  It may take a few rings though

Im in South Texas and based on my experience---NO!!! They do not answer either their local number nor the national number.  Ive had to use the email option on their website to contact them, and then they called me back on a Sunday no less, I was surprised!

I have recently called the USPS 800 number several times and requested a call back. But you have to ask for "Agent" at a certain point in the automated call in order to get the option of hanging on the line or getting a call back.  They have called back each time.  However no one can figure out what happened to my missing package.

I go to the post office 5 days a week.

I have called the post office in the past, and no one has EVER picked up.

However, when I am in the post office, I do hear one of the managers there on the phone with customers.  She puts them on speaker phone.  So everyone in the lobby can hear the conversation.  I think that is so disrespectul to the customer.  If you can not hold up the phone to your ear, at least go in the back for privacy.

Yes.  No complaining here.  A postal employee always answers the phone when I call. Which is seldom needed.

In our city I have found they rarely answer!! It is frustrating at times.
