Just a reminder that the US Post Office is closed today to observe the New Year Holiday!

Post Office locations will be closed Sunday, January 1, and Monday, January 2, the observed federal holiday. All Post Office locations will be open on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

Some one on the Weather Channel just told us we have to go back to work today. Doesn't know it is a legal holiday.

A friend of mine posted on Facebook last night that Her daughter's school system starts back today.

I have no school aged children, but just last night I was wondering if the kids had to go back today, thanks!

In my county though in metro Atlanta, school starts this Thursday. The county right next to us starts a week from today. 

I, for one, I'm totally done with all the holidays. Really looking forward to tomorrow when things are back to normal. Anymore in my life, I crave normalcy.

If I'm not mistaken, "observed holidays" exist for payroll reasons. It's just a way to get out of having to pay for an otherwise day off.

Well... I guess they deserve the day off [post office] They work hard getting those packages to us during the Xmas holiday.

Banks are prob. closed today, also.
