Re: Post From a Fast Food Worker

When I go out to eat, it's with the understanding that it will likely take longer and may not be as seamless as when they are fully staffed. Having appropriate expectations and putting things in perspective makes for a more pleasant experience for everyone.

That's a much different scenario than what we have in my area.

Many, many fast food restaurants are closed and some of our most established restaurants in our tourist town have had to close due to no workers.

Fast food includes Micky D's, Arbys, the list goes on and on.

Pop here is just over 50,000. Not a larger City.

We have 4 McDonald's, Wendy's, Arby's, Chick-Fil-A, Boom-A-Rang, 4- Sonic, 5 Guys, Pizza, Taco, BBQ, Steak places to eat. Everyone going inside to eat. Not me. Did not do that before Covid so not doing it now. We rather cook & eat at home.

@Nightowlz I'm sorry but what does this mean in relation to the subject matter of this thread?

@ThinkingOutLoud What experiences? Are you a fast food or restaurant worker?

After reading this thread, I realize that we are doing the right thing cooking at home.

It's a shame to hear this.  Dealing with the public in the best of times is no picnic.  In my area, there are "help wanted" signs all over the place.  And long lines around all of the drive-thrus and stores. It's been made too easy and comfy for people to stay home.

@Hippiified, since I'm not a fan of cryptic comments, where is it we're going to again?

Probably not a big stretch to conclude that posters giving the poor guy the most grief here would give him a similar amount at his workplace.

Re: Post From a Fast Food Worker

There's no way we would go to a fast food place and that's been for decades.

I think it depends on the state and the area, how positive or negative thing are.

Sorry for the worker getting flack though.

Re: Post From a Fast Food Worker

What's most disturbing are not just the usual attacks against the unemployed; those are fully expected and nothing new.  But now we are seeing the unwarranted, unpleasant assaults on someone who actually took a service job that is undoubtedly difficult.   Q posters never surprise me but frequently raise alarms.
