This happened to me the other day, and I wanted to get your thoughts on this, good, bad and ugly.
I pulled in to the bank parking lot, which was small, and all the spaces were filled, save for one. The car parked to my left was a little over the line. I very carefully pulled in. When I got out, a young, 20-something girl got out with pad of paper in hand, and said, "I think you just hit my car!" We both looked at the "spot" and there was NO mark or scratch or dent. She said that the car was a rental, and that they charge a lot for damage, which is true.
Now, my truck is 26 years old, and shows it. It has rust spots and a few dings here and there.
I walked away and did my business. When I came back, she was gone.
I got to thinking, that maybe she was trying to pull a scam, but once she got a look at my old, beat up truck, figured she wouldn't get much $ from me, so she didn't pursue the claim.
Am I being paranoid to think that she might have been trying to pull a fast one?
Thoughts?
