I still dont' understand why a few people need to be
"right", they discredit others and not playing nice.
THIS thread and only THIS thread to was for ALL of you to be AWARE that additional shortates are coming and THEY already know it's going to affect the Holidays.
So ship or no ship, closed port, open port, be prepared because it's coming.
If you do not heed the warning, so be it. Everyone lives their own life and does what they want and reads what they want.
I read it, it' credible and wanted to share. Next time, I'm going to tell you Joe Smoe told me at the bar down the street last night. No arguments then.

@Sooner And, we let it happen. It would also seem we're doing little to move in a different direction going forward. Quite frankly, I could possibly support their zero tolerance policy. Perhaps had that approach been widely adopted, we'd be futher along than we clearly are.
Perhaps if the public accepted that policy even with the now known basic facts, we could move further along.

China is our bitter rival on the world stage right now, and we are in a bit of a cold war with them. Does anyone really think they won't try to harm us any way they can, short of a hot shooting war? (I'm speaking of the totalitarian leadership of China, not the innocent Chinese people who have no say in what their overlords do.)
The risks of manufacturing all our cheapest goods in China, and having to ship them here from there, have been known since the 1990s. Businesses don't care. The profits are too attractive.
By the way, China has its own Covid misinformation operations. They claim that they have the disease perfectly under control except that Chinese people keep catching Covid from foreign imports. Frozen food in particular. The idea that Chinese people are passing it to each other locally goes against the party line. They have shut down ports over the foreign import "issue" before.

I'll say this, I'm glad that my dad isn't around to see everything that's going on in the world.😞

@Anonymous032819 I am almost positive your beloved dad saw and lived through tough and scary times. It forged him into a strong human being.

Maybe if more ports in China close, we will be getting less junk. Less counterfeit stuff and less of what that isnt wanting entering the U.S.

@On It wrote:Googled it. The short answer is it was closed because of a zero tolerance for COVID-19. There was one case so it was closed.
Yes. I had heard the same thing on a pod cast that I listen to. That part of the port that services the U.S. and Europe was shut down due to someone being ill with Covid.
