I'll bet this is a gripe they've never yet witnessed.  And there is really no need to respond to a nonexistent problem.  So the OP finds it "irritating"?   The mods aren't here to make this an ideal board just for her.

I think we have a sisterly obligation to heart the holy heck out of her just to help her become desensitized to those ghastly grey bannners that spring up, rude and unbidden, with yet one more person's stamp of approval. Or worse yet, a reply that mentions her.

 

But seriously, let's remember that the poor lady just had a very nasty fall and is probably either in pain or on painkillers, neither of which usually improves one's patience or judgment. Plus her "update" thread took an oddly ugly turn, no fault hers, and that can make one very cranky. I'm not suggesting a group hug, just a context for her complaint.
