@sidsmom  "A" because it's easier to get the smaller corners in your mouth.

 

When I was a little girl, I preferred "D" -- my Mom made me peanut butter toast and cut it in four pieces like this for me. Woman Happy

None of them. My usual bread, Challah, is not that shape; it is an east to west sort of oval shape. I cut from top to bottom, across the slice going east to west into toast “soldiers” (strips). 

With the shape you show, I would start with C,  and slice across to make soldiers, each piece will have a crust “handle”.
