I know we aren't supposed to have them here, but who doesn't love a good political discussion? One of my sons is pretty conservative (not social issues, though), and I have become more progressive after having been more conservative in the past. One thing we enjoy discussing is politics (as well as other subjects). People might think we are having a heated argument (except that we are usually smiling!) if they heard us, but to us, it's good fun and quite enjoyable! He is well educated and quite knowledgeable, so he keeps me on my toes while I help him "see the light" (he he, sorry, couldn't resist ).

Topaz Gem, I was just composing a reply in the blog thread before it got poofed, but we essentially made the same point, just from different perspectives!

To all, I think if we weren't on a BB, but sitting around with a glass of wine, many of us might have a good time while sharing our views.
