It must be difficult for "old-timers"...

I know there are already plenty of threads about Patti leaving, so indulge me, please with one more. First off, I'm not particularly a fan, so I don't have strong feelings one way or the other about her departure.

Having said that, it must be very difficult being a long-term employee giving it your all (good, bad, or otherwise), and all of a sudden, some newcomers are hired and they suddenly get all the plum assignments - assignments you most likely hoped you might be in store for one day.

People say that LR gets the plum jobs because she's single. Well so is Patti. Why would Shawn, Sandra or now Courtney get to do the red-carpet gig (or the New York gig). Shouldn't it have been Patti's "turn".

I'd personally see the hand-writing on the wall and feel it was time to move on. That I've gone as far as I can on this "gig" and it's time to try something new.

(As an aside, I've often heard that things happen in three's. Lisa M, Patti,.... next?)
