Just in..At least four Philadelphia police officers were shot in Philadelphia’s Nicetown-Tioga section and rushed to the hospital this Wednesday afternoon. Another officer suffered a non shooting injury during the incident. The officers were taken to area hospitals. All of the injuries are believed to be non life threatening.

Police say the shooting happened on the 3700 block of North 15th Street. They were first called to the scene for narcotics activity. Police say the shooting happened when a narcotics unit entered the neighborhood.

It is really getting to be like the wild west on the streets. Just recently in New York City they show men pulling out guns and shooting at each other. It doesn't matter who gets hit. We are living in really scary  times. I feel for the police officers these brave men and women put their lives on the line, and they are not respected. Thankfully the injuries are non life threatening  this time!

1 narcotic officer w/1 prisoner is barricaded in an upstairs bedroom

2 narcotic officers w/2 prisoners are barricaded in a downstairs bathroom
