Have to give D.A.Brandenburg props for taking the process public from the start.
Excerpt from http://apnews.myway.com//article/20150113/us--albuquerque_police_shootings-074c52a040.html
"Acknowledging the frustration over the secrecy of the proceedings in those cases, the Albuquerque district attorney said she would bypass the grand jury process and instead present the murder case to a judge at a preliminary hearing that will be open to the public.
"Unlike Ferguson and unlike in New York City, we're going to know. The public is going to have that information," District Attorney Kari Brandenburg said."

As they should be. It seems there's either an increase in incidents or we're just hearing more about incidents of them being a bit quick on the trigger finger. They need to be better screened and held accountable. It seems too often excuses are made... Not saying it's not, at times, a thankless job, but it IS a job and most people are held accountable for the quality of the work they do and are screened to ensure they have the personality and skill set for the work they undertake.

Scary... I know a man who left the military, had some sort of non-military related head injury, even before that had a history of somewhat erratic behavior, who was recently hired by a local PD... As mentioned, meaningful screening should be SOP... Who knows, it might all work out just fine, but it does give one pause.

I live in AZ and have heard this story. This is the right thing to do. They killed him in cold blood. It's on video.
