Prayers for your Dad, Jules. I'm so glad you called the ambulance. Trying to get him there yourself and then not getting right in vs. arriving in the ambulance will give him a much better chance at a successful outcome and recovery!!!

My daughter and I are flying to TX next Saturday to see my Dad. He is still living at home but at 77 it is hard to see our parents getting older and more vulnerable. He had a stroke a couple of years ago, made a 100% recovery . . . but had decided his BP medicine was causing him to get dizzy when he went to stand up and told his Internist he thought he should quit taking it and the doctor said OK . . . and didn't monitor it or having him come in weekly for a check or a home BP unit . . . BAM stroke in less than a month.

Again, best wishes for your Dad and prayers for both of you!!!!

OK? Wow isn't that doctor just a peachy guy.

And the icing on the cake? He is one of those concierge doctors. I think it is 2K a year. Heaven Help Us. This was in 2010.

Re: Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers

Thank you all soooo much. Your kind words and prayers, and good thoughts mean the world to me. {#emotions_dlg.wub} I am home for a bit to have some dinner and while they do a shift change, I am not allowed to be there from 6:30 to 8:30 both morning and night. I already feel less stressed, my dad is in better spirits and he actually ate some food. He is on a liquid diet, but at least he had some soup and pudding, and some juice and tea. His ICU nurse is a complete angel, she is sweet and attentive, and my dad seems quite smitten. He has been telling her some of his stories so I know he is on the mend. They still have him on the meds to keep his heart rate up, but they are gradually lowering the dose and he is holding his own. I am hopeful that with a good night of rest and a chance for those antibiotics to work, he will be much improved tomorrow and perhaps be moved to a regular hospital room.

Again, thank you all for the positive wishes and good vibes, I know it makes a difference. The house seems so empty without him, not sure how I will sleep without his snoring in the background, but I am so exhausted I think I will be able to rest knowing he is in great care.

I'll keep you posted. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

Best wishes going out to your father, Jules. I'm glad to read he is feeling better and hope very much that he bounces all the way back to good health and a return home where he can snore your ears and heart with pure bliss.

Jules sure will be happy and honored to offer prayers for your Dad and especially for you his care giver. I can tell you love you Dad as much as I loved mine, he has been gone for many years but I still feel him to be with me every day.
