Please help me to understand

Why people post prayer requests on the Dooney and Bourke thread? I honestly opened a thread on that board thinking that is was about purses and it was asking for prayers for some guy who got his arm ripped off. Prayer requests on a public board are beyond tacky, but even more so on a purse board. I thought that it would have been better if posted on Viewpoints or Among Friends.
