My kitty Ember is 14 years old. She is Maine Coon. She has always been a fraidy cat...very shy and only likes me.

She seemed to be in a lot of pain, so I took her to the vet yesterday. She has a fractured vertebrae in the lower back causing severe pain and was totally constipated because it probably hurt when she strained to go to the bathroom. She is loaded with arthritis too. She usually just lies around, but she likes to cuddle with me.

My other cat has really been picking on her since she can tell that Ember is sick. Ember is usually the alpha cat. I took her back in to the vet today because she was peeing all over. He thinks it is from the steroid injection he gave her and decided to keep her in the hospital.

I am so upset about my poor little baby. I don't want her to suffer, but the vet thinks there is hope. He can put her on meds for the constipation and pain.

Please pray for my furbaby Ember. I have lost three people who were close to me (including my father) in the last year. I just feel I can't handle much more. Thanks for your prayers.
