Last Friday, I sent several copies of a report to a subconsultant of ours, who was then going to pass along the report to their client.

On Monday, I was compiling a scan of the whole document when I noticed that one of the sections had photos with very short captions under them. I knew that was unusual and, upon further inspection, found that they were my "dummy" captions that I use as placeholders for others to provide an accurate description of the photo. The pictures were mostly of roadsides and flooded areas. My captions: Nice Road, Mud, More Mud, Lane Narrows Ahead, Gone Fishing, Buried Bodies.... oh no, Buried Bodies?! I told my boss what was actually sent and he called the subconsultant and had that section pulled and replaced.

I'm still working 2 days later, but I'm on my best behavior! My advice: If you have a sense of humor, be careful in the workplace.

I'd be happy to hear your horror stories.
