My husband has been taking Plavix for 10 years now. He had to have 3 stints put in at that time. My question is - Is Plavix a drug you have to stay on for the rest of your life? I know it prevents plaque build up and it prevents that from happening. His Dr. told him that he could stop taking it if he wanted to. This was not his heart Dr. It was his internist. I was shocked when I heard that he had told him this. I'm not a big fan of this Dr. But my husband likes him. We have had many disagreements about him but I can't win. Thanks for listening and please give me the courage to get through this. I am going with him tomorrow to the Dr. and I am going to insist he give my husband the prescription. Thank-you.
