The state showed up this morning for a surprise visit! That was fast since I just called them yesterday morning! The state office is about an hour and fifteen minutes away. Our PH got three full pages of violations and have 2 weeks to remedy everything. As far as I'm concerned, they needed to shut it down today.
My GD didn't see the whole list, but she knows they found cockroaches, beetles, a dead mouse in the restaurant and birds in the basement.
The basement drain is plugged and flooded with water. The freezer is not working, some lights flickering, no ventilation, carpets need cleaned. I can't think of everything she told me.
They are going to have a meeting with all employees in the AM and they will find out more.
I'm glad the state took my call seriously.
Oh, they were mad that they weren't warned because they didn't have time to prepare! A restaurant should be clean enough for the state to visit at any time!

They were quick. Good for them and good for you for making that call. What a disgusting place.

Hoooray!

I didn't make it real clear, they did not shut them down but gave them 2 weeks to clean it up. I think they should have been closed today. Oh well...
Oh, the basement is where they keep supplies including the delivery boxes.

Yeah, Mima, where I live they would have shut them down.

Why weren't they shut down immediately? The broken freezer and the rodents should have been enough to shut the restaurant down.

All of these kinds of calls are taken seriously especially when public consumption of food is involved.

Awe geese. This sounds beyond disgusting. I can't imagine working in a place like that. Good for you for reporting it. Way to go Girl.

I don't know! I forgot one thing. They can only serve thin crust pizza right now because the dough isn't fresh and won't raise enough for the thicker crust. I don't know if it has to do with the freezer being broke or if it's too old.
