I haven't been on Pinterest for awhile. I generally use it when planning a trip or doing some updates to my home or looking for a recipe.
I'm taking two trips this summer and was viewing some of the fashions on the site.
I was amazed at how many items were from websites that are considered as untrustworthy or scams. I always check the trustworthy status of a new site before I go to it.
I thought that Pinterest was a site that monitored the items that were pinned on it, but maybe I'm just naive.

No, they don't vet pinned items. Individuals pin things to their own board and you're seeing it unless they have them set to private. I keep all of my boards private when I'm planning an event. Pinterest is the same as FB or IG when it comes to ads.

I stopped visiting that site a long while ago. They irritated me when I bought a bird metal wall hanging that came from Europe and the bird did not have a head. . . the maker had disappeared.

Thanks. Makes sense what you said.

After reading some of these responses I'm glad I only go there for recipes. It's a shame that you cannot trust many sites these days and I too check out a site before I order something. It'll only get worse with AI too. :-(
