I prefer live performances and there was a time singers always performed live. Maybe it was because they did not depend on auto-tune but they did not hit bad notes. I grew up watching singers on live variety shows. No one missed their notes. Today it seems a live performance is an excuse for a less than perfect performance.

I agree with OP, PERFECT. The dress was stunning also.

She seemed to be singing live to me. Great performance. Last night I was thinking how nice it was to watch a show where everyone is singing live and no lipsynching. At least to me, there didn't seem to be any lipsynching from anyone. Loved ALL of the performances.

She brought me to tears, as that song has special meaning to our family, and she sang it beautifully. I never realized how powerful her voice was.
I am not a fan of her music, but now I know there's real talent there. Same with Lady Gaga. I don't know why these women flaunt raunchy stuff on stage when they are so talented. I guess it's what people want.

I did watch this. I thought it was good. She is very anti-lip synching. She's made mention of that in her shows. You can hear her breath when she sings, plus some of the notes last might were off so if she lip synched I imagine there wouldn't have been those few off notes.
Loved the dress too. She wore red to the grammy's recently too.

During the time when Britney was gaining speed, MANY singers out there were overshadowed....Christina, Pink...even Jessica Simpson. Those gals have beautiful vocals, but their "package" wasn't the selling point...which was MTV video, video, video. Nice to have them succeed in their own right. As for Pink...she has an AMAZING public relations team. 10 years ago if someone would say Pink would sing @ the Academy Awards, you'd be laughed out of town. She was a rough, scrappy, bad girl. It worked then....and her new image works now. PR perfection.

The beautiful red dress is by Ellie Saab (I'm an end credit reader, but not taking the time to check the spelling!).

Pink is a knock out in every sense of the word. Awesome, awesome, awesome!

Let me ask a dumb question......I wonder why they didn't ask Liza to sing that song....
While out on the road, today.....Sirius radio were playing songs by Liza and her mom, Judy...such beautiful voices they had...can she no longer sing???

this is so true!! I loved her music back then and now she has gotten the accolades she deserves. Just don't tell anyone why she called herself "Pink" - lol
