A day to celebrate math and science, it is Pi day. Almost eerily it is also the day Albert Einstein was born and Stephen Hawking died.

Albert Einstein is the one person who was alive during my lifetime that I have genuine regret for not having seen or heard him speak publicly. He was philosophical as well as scientific.

Stephen Hawking was buried in Westminster Abbey between Issac Newton and Charles Darwin. Despite his debilitating disease he continued his work and shared his brilliance. I suppose he is best know for his study of black holes, but he seemed to be a global thinker seeing how everything is related. I was amazed when he appeared on "Big Bang Theory." He clearly had a sense of humor.

Today we can celebrate two brilliant men.

@On It    Thank you so much for posting this. I had no idea about this day.  I did watch the movie about Stephen Hawking.  It was terrific!  I can't remember the name of it, but it starred Eddie Redmayne.  I couldn't believe all he accomplished despite his disability.💝

I celebrate the scientists who innovate and the mathematicians whom I wish I could emulate.

On a lighter note, I will probably commemorate the day with a piece of pie. I always think of dessert, but others may refer to pizza as pie.

I work in STEM. We used to tweak the name and nature of the day to

"National Pi for Lunch Day"-  We celebrated both science and having pie for lunch (or at least have dessert first)

Happy PI Day! We're so excited that we planned our annual STEM Night for tonight!

Today is our 54th wedding anniversary and our dgd is 19 years old and in the NAVY.

We are on a mini 2 day road trip.  Planning to have a nice dinner tonight and getting a piece of pie.  Cherry is my favorite.
