@Citrine1   I'm not even sure what wheelhouse means exactly!

I do hear it often .  Guess it's the same thing as "up your alley"

which I don't like either.

I know this probably sounds awful but when someone says "Enjoy!"

What if I don't feel like it?! lol!

 

I know it's used a lot by a lot of nice people, but maybe overused . Still I know they are just being nice.

 

It's like I think calling someone hon or honey is a warm, welcoming greeting whereas it makes a lot cringe.

 

"It is what it is," is definitely overused and kind of the same as "whatever." A friend of mine and I will sometimes use these to make fun of these sayings and laugh though sometimes they really do have a way of saying something when nothing else fits. 

"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew. Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"

@Effie54 I hate that too.  Frankly, I hope the "alternative" is better than what we have here.
