I watched his show whenever I could!  They were a great couple!  I love Marlo, too.  So sad for her and the entire family.

Re: Phil Donahue 😪

I pulled up a little clip on youtube of him and Marlo meeting for the first time on his show.  It as only a few seconds but when saying goodbye it was quite obvious they liked each other.  She took hold of his hand saying what a wonderful man he is and whomever the woman is in his life she is very lucky.

One article I read today they broke up for awhile then 12 weeks later were married.  Marlo just got scared even with her father before walking to Phil in the living room.  Her dad told her she did not have to do it but when she saw him she said to herself "it is just Phil."  No longer afraid and proceeded with the wedding.

@beckyb1012 As we were standing in front of the church my dad looked at me, patted his pocket and said "I've got the keys, if you want me to go get the car and we can take off!"  Thank goodness I didn't and got the man of my dreams and the love of my life.  Daddy loved him too!

That is so sweet @Sooner and what a blessing you kept walking on.  Your Daddy loved him and and loved you even more, your choice alone for the journey.  Whata ride I am sure.

Veering off topic slightly, but Phil's death reminded me of an old favorite of mine:  Erma Bombeck.  She wrote a humorous column called At Wit's End and a book titled The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank.  They were neighbors and good friends..

@tansy I read everything that Erma ever wrote. Truly one of the funniest authors ever. And so relatable.

When I read of his passing, it was such a sad shock.  I always watched his shows way back when.  It's sad. RIP
