I would never subject my dog to any type of festival because of the heat.

I will say that most of the dogs I see in stores are far better behaved than the children I see. Many of the children are totally out of control...very disturbing!

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to compare a dog to a baby or child.

I agree with you 100%. What is REALLY annoying is when screaming children are NOT removed from the store by a parent. NO one should be subjected to bratty kids throwing a tantrum.

I blame the bratty kids on today's parents.  None of my siblings (many) and I ever acted up in public.  Neither did my kids.

My Mother always said........correct them at home, then they will know how to act in public.  She was a saint!

My little feline friend would not be happy at a festival.  So it is easy for cat owners to accept a policy against pets.

I have been painting and renovating the inside of my house, and the lovely people helping me were prone to joyous singing, whistling, and happy conversation.

The cat hid the whole time.  In  fact, she decided she liked best the area under the bed and still spends most of her time there.  Once of the nice things about the cats I have had is that they bear no grudge, but a large gathering works against all their instincts.

We're not in England or France. This is about manners. Unfortunate that people anywhere don't think of others and are lacking basic common courtesy which this thread is about.

@Carolina925   I am a life long dog owner and lover, but I agree with your post.  There are just some places (and times) where dogs don't belong.  Of course, I feel this way about small children too.  LOL.

Obviously, dogs should not be taken to crowded events or out during extreme temperatures.

There are, bring your dog along to work, companies where dogs are welcome.

Times have changed.

Yes, times do change but ignoring common courtesy shouldn't be part of that change. Sad that some are so dismissive of others' real issues (ie allergies, phobias, etc). Given that pets were fine at home in the past, they can be fine at home now.
