Does it make sense to you when petites are only 1" shorter than regular?

On what garments?    Pants?  Dresses?

Absolutely not.  If a garment is not labeled "petite short", I have to get  it altered!

Really depends on the garment. What item are you referencing @Bonkers1 ?

Susan Graver even says petites are for 5'4" and under.

Where does that put a petite 5' tall?

Peace Love World makes her petites 28" inseam, and she says she likes them dragging the floor. And Amy and Courtney and some hosts are always wearing heels, so they don't drag on the ground.

What's bad is when they tell short gals to buy regular and just hike them up at the waist. No thank you!

"Petite" doesn't mean just mean the length on something.  The entire garment is is adjusted, like the rise of a pair of pants or jeans, the length of sleeves, a shirt from shoulder to hem.

@febe1 A petite size with a 28" inseam is PERFECT for me. I can't always find them so I jump at the chance to order this inseam.

No!  I need a 24" inseam and usually settle for a capri length of 23 to avoid the big cut off and hemming procedure.

I would prefer it if ladies' pants used measurements like menswear:    waist size, then length.

(A very few do it that way)
