The reason that I am posting this is , number one, to further give an example of how Chinese made products can be harmful, and two, because there are so many animal lovers in this community, myself included.

We have two cats, one eighteen and one twelve , and both are rescued, The younger of the two, Cookie, has IBD and there was a time, about two years ago, that our vet thought she might have to be euthanized. At that time, she and her "sister", Lita, were both eating Hill's Science Diet, a prescription formula, which I bought at our vet's office.

Cookie, who had a very rough start in life (we found her starving, and near death, when she was about a year old), has always had a very touchy digestive system. While she was on the Hill's Science Diet, she would throw up several times per week, and had trouble maintaining her weight.

I did some research and switched her from the Hill's to Wellness Wet food, turkey formula, and Petguard Dry Food (mix of cat and sr. cat). She also had skin issues which cleared up when I took her off of the Science Diet.

Recently, she began vomiting and having skin issues again, and I found out from a very ethical pet shop owner that Wellness, which used to be, in my opinion, top notch company, now sources their Taurine and Vitamin C from China. (when they did that, she refused to carry their product any longer) I called the company, spoke to a very nice gentleman who insisted that their ingredients that are sourced from China are "carefully tested". When I asked him if they were tested in the USA or in China, I got no answer.

Bottom line...I switched their food to Petguard Wet food, turkey and barley formula, and Cookie is back to her old self, and doing much better.

So, you see, with the melamine issue in the petfood that killed so many pets (and came from China), it is clear that so many companies put profits above safety.

Just thought everyone would want to know this info, particularly those who have kitties. Another great source of natural/homeopathic remedies (vet formulated) is allergicpet.com. Most cats with IBD are either constipated or have diarrhea. I found a natural, homeopathic vet formulated anti-constipation formula which I believe saved Cookie's life, along with the change in food from Hill's Science Diet,

Hope this helps all of the pet lovers out there. God bless all of you who love and care for animals.
